The Currumbin Barbarians are a crew etched in Currumbin history. Established in 2002, this season will be the 25th year since the crew was formed. The Barbarians were the winners of the inaugural Ocean Thunder professional Surf Boat series and the only crew to win four overall titles. The Barbarians have won multiple QLD state Titles, made 9 Australia Open Finals collecting 4 Silver Medals and an Australian Open Gold Medal in 2025. In 25 years, 19 rowers and 2 sweeps have been a part of this. The Currumbin Barbarians are one of the most recognised names in Surfboat racing and the crew is hungry to win another Australian title at the Aussies in 2026.
