Bella Wansborough is one of New Zealand’s most exciting young surf and pool athletes, already making waves on the international stage. A dynamic competitor with a fierce drive to succeed, Bella has recently been selected for the New Zealand High Performance Squad — a prestigious group preparing for elite-level clashes against Australia’s best athletes in a series of trans-Tasman duels.

Bella first represented New Zealand on the world stage as part of the national youth team at the 2024 Lifesaving World Championships. Her standout performances there have since been matched by continued success, including her recent selection in the New Zealand Battle of the Tasman team, set to compete in August 2025.

One of Bella’s proudest achievements came earlier this year at the Australian Surf Life Saving Championships, where she was crowned the U19 Belt Race Champion — a remarkable result that showcased her endurance, skill, and fearless racing style. Determined to continue her progression at the highest level, Bella has relocated to Australia to train full-time at Currumbin Surf Life Saving Club, placing herself in a world-class training environment to sharpen her skills and chase her international goals.

Bella’s commitment to her training, her country, and her future in the sport is unwavering. She continues to inspire with her dedication and her passion for surf lifesaving.
