Gus Shivnan
New Zealand Representative
Gus Shivnan is a standout competitor in surf lifesaving, representing New Zealand with strength, focus, and determination. Recently selected for the New Zealand High Performance Squad, Gus is now preparing for a highly anticipated series of duels against Australia — a showcase of the best surf athletes from both nations.
Gus has had a phenomenal year in the surf and the pool. At the 2025 New Zealand Surf Life Saving Championships, he claimed a commanding victory in the Open Surf Race, cementing his position as one of the country's premier water athletes and a third in the Open Ironman event. His results in the pool have been equally impressive, demonstrating his all-round ability and deep dedication to the sport across both disciplines.
In December, Gus will proudly pull on the silver fern once again as he competes at the International Surf Rescue Challenge — a prestigious international event that will bring together the world’s best lifesaving talent. With a focus on both individual performance and team contribution, Gus is preparing to race with pride and purpose on the global stage.
Your donation will help support Gus’s preparations and travel for international competition, including equipment, training camps, and the December 2025 International Surf Rescue Challenge, as he continues to represent New Zealand with excellence.
