Dan Norton Smith
Assistant Nipper and Youth Coach and Senior Swim Coach
As a coach, Dan has worked with surf life saving clubs across the country, from beginner to advanced levels. He has developed training programs that are tailored to the needs of each club and individual athlete, and has helped countless surf life savers achieve their goals. Dan’s approach is to create a positive, supportive and challenging environment, where athletes are encouraged to push themselves beyond their limits and strive for excellence. One of Dan’s key strengths is his ability to communicate effectively with his athletes.

Paul O’Shea
Surf Rescue Coach
Paul O’Shea takes the lead role in the Surf Rescue Competition coaching having over 30 years’ experience as an athlete in all 3 disciplines of Patrol Competition, Champion Lifesaver and First Aid.
Paul’s achievements include:
- Inducted into the SLSA Hall of Fame as a member of the Currumbin Beach Patrol Competition Team for their dominance as 14 x Australian Gold Medallists.
- Multi Australian and State Medallist in Champion Lifesaver and Patrol Competition.
- 2022 Innovation of the Year recipient in recognition of his Surf Rescue Education Portal designed to support athletes to increase their knowledge in a diverse and engaged way.


Jayden Erskine
Ski Coach
- Joined Currumbin Beach Vikings SLSC in 2012
- Jayden will be assisting to support and develop our ski paddlers and brings an extensive set of skills and experience to our Club.
- Jayden is an Open Australian Taplin Relay and Lifesaver Relay Gold Medallist and has excelled on the State, Australian and World stages.
- He has represented Queensland on several occasions and was recently named as the Currumbin SLSC Ski Paddler of the Year.


Surf Boat Captain and Sweeps
David Dwight heads up our strong surf boat section within the Club as the Surf Boat Captain. He oversees all our sweeps in conjunction with the Director of Surf Sports.
